There may be some subtlety I'm missing here about the way Panasonic traditionally does it, however. When it moved from the LX2 to the LX3, Panasonic cut the range of the lens, and now it's starting to grow back. The company claims improved resolvability and less chromatic aberration in the new lens as well.
Pansonic says the camera will have improved autofocus and start-up performance--branded "Sonic Speed AF"--derived from running more operations in parallel fixing aperture and checking focus. The LX series has always lagged in this area as well, so I hope it helps. Save Cancel Drag to set position! Overview Discussions Photos Members Map. TylersOneHourPhoto pm, 15 January I've been trying very hard to find a clear picture of a side by side comparison of a LX3 vs LX5 in terms of size.
I'm just trying to get a clear idea of the size differences between the two. Portability and size are crucial to me, and the LX3 is already pretty close to the limit. If the difference is minimal, I'll opt for the LX5. Anyone have a link or two to a few pictures that clearly show side, top to bottom the difference in size between these two cameras? Thank you! The limitations of the LX-7 are all made with a compromise to allow for as much functionality in as small a package as possible. Personally moving up the ladder a consideration of the Olympus OM D with interchangeable lenses is likely a better place to park your money.
It opens up the ability to swap out Olympus and Lumix lenses as well as others and it offers a package in the same size of what you have now. Even possibly the new Fuji EX 1 is a very compelling small cam with a big jump in image quality over your current unit.
If the size of your camera does not bother you now and you are looking to 'upgrade', that is a direction I would consider, if I were you. Looks like the LX-5 is destined to be a cult classic! I still believe the LX-7 f1. There is far more good reasons than bad to move up the ladder.
I could only imagine the next round of LX cams would contain a larger sensor ala RX - that would be a very hard cam to beat. LXLex Posted 9 years ago. Edited by LXLex member 9 years ago.
All your images I have seen seem to have been photoshopped so it's hard to tell what the camera is capable of! None of mine are so one can compare images from the LX3 to the 7 easily! Most people believe the LX3 gave better images than the LX5 or as good. Now why get so frustrated with a simple camera like the LX7 so early. One needs to get accustomed to the camera and learn what it can and can't do. One would think a DSLR is much more frustrating!
Setting up the LX7 is not much harder than the LX3 and only in artistic mode is there modes which are very simple. It doesn't have a million gadgets either? WB doesn't seem any harder and I think the standard WB is pretty good! Here is another review if anyone wants to read, www.
I'd would have been nice if you could have posted some un-edited images from the LX5 and the LX7 so people can compare but it doesn't seem possible? Anyways sorry it didn't work out but the LX7 for me is easy to use, easy to navigate, has better images and features at a great price.
Pic16Bit : Isn't it already? I think MoniKa has a great point-you will spend money and time getting to know a new camera, and frankly, your photos will look the same.
