For me the last time I threw caution into the wind and did something for the first time was in March of last year. After booking 3 days off work, on March 4th I bought the cheapest ticket they had at Lincoln train station to gain access to the platform, made every effort not to look at the screens and had my iPod as loud as possible to avoid any audio announcements.

I sat on the platform and decided to board whatever train arrived next, planning to ride it until the end of the line. With nerves filling my belly, I explored as much of the city as I could in the remaining hours of the day, taking in art galleries, visiting as many independent and creative boutiques I could before the end of the working day. I spent the night in the city, getting a last minute room in a Hotel before hitting the train station the next morning for the next stop.

The 9am train I boarded finally landed in at Bristol Temple station and the next city was ready for me to explore.
